Mild Mizuho 5 Years is an aged Awamori (“kusu”) distilled by “Mizuho Distillery” on the Okinawan island of Ryukyu.
Awamori is the oldest distilled Spirit from Japan. It is made from rice and black koji (malted rice) mold, distilled one-time and only produced in the islands of Okinawa.
Kusu Awamori types should be aged 3 years minimum in jars and taste similar than an aged Whisky or Brandy.
Aged for 5 years, Mild Mizuho 5YO has been produced in the traditional way, using rice from Thailand and Koji, distilled once before being aged in jars, it is a perfect example of aged Awamori
